For every South African homeowner who wants to build well.
And every honest contractor who deserves the work. We're a small Johannesburg team — researchers, journalists, builders, lawyers — building the country's first homeowner-side construction platform.
The information asymmetry is brutal.
Building a house in South Africa is the largest financial decision most people ever make. And yet homeowners go in with less information than the builders quoting them, less leverage than the suppliers selling them, and less recourse than any other consumer in the economy.
We don't think that's right. We're closing that gap with plain-language research, free planning tools, a verified directory of builders who'll show their work, and a hire flow that gives homeowners three real quotes against a single, professional scope.
What we've built so far.
How we make decisions.
We don't sell builder placement. We don't run paid features. The pros listed in our directory are there because they passed our verification, not because they paid us.
Every cost number we publish has a source. Every regulatory claim has a citation. If we can't show our working, we don't publish.
Every article is reviewed by a professional working in the field — a QS, a construction lawyer, an architect, a site manager. We name them.
If we get something wrong, we change it and we say so. Corrections are published with a date and a description, not silently edited.
Your data goes to the matched builders and nowhere else. We don't sell leads, share contact details, or remarket from your visit.
The people behind the publication.

We respond to every email. Tip-offs about predatory builders, regulatory shifts, or your own project story — all welcome.
