Quote validity
Insist on 90-day quote validity when a material is up >10% YoY. Otherwise 60 days is fine.
PC sums
Provisional sums (PC items like taps, tiles, fittings) should be scheduled separately so price increases don't surprise you.
Bulk vs. progressive
On standing-stock materials, bulk procurement saves 4–8%. On steel and timber, the saving rarely beats price risk.
